Stoner finishes on top but Rossi and Hayden (despite a shoulder injury preventing much track time) are pleased with the performance of the 1000cc Ducati!  Spies and Lorenzo rode the Yamaha into the second and third (respectively) fastest times of the day!

Spyder Club are heading off to Spain to run three, four day trips for up to eight like-minded guests in the beautiful region of Andalucia, southern Spain.  The fleet of motorcycles coming with us this year to add to the experience of riding the brilliant roads used for winter testing by journalists include, the new Ducati Streetfighter 848, Monster 1100 Evo, 848 and Multistrada, the Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC, Triumph Daytona 675 R and now a stunning Bimota DB4, a very rare sight on any road!!

Come and enjoy our 2012 season starter in the sunshine of Spain, in good company, swapping bikes along the way!

Some of Spyder Club’s members visited Motorcycle Live this year and were then lucky enough to be invited to the Ducati VIP evening.  In attendance also was Maria Costello who gave the BBC’s Matt Roberts a lift on the new Ducati Panigale!

Spyder Club are back at the NEC, Motorcycle Live Show, for the fourth time, set up on stand E15, Hall 2 for the next nine days.  Starting tomorrow, Saturday the 19th November and finishing on Sunday the 27th, the event looks great.

All the major manufacturers are there, the Ducati 1199 looks stunning and our friends at Ducati let us sit on it.  It’s not as small as it looks with plenty of room for my 6ft 2 frame and not too big to put a 55kg, 5ft 8 wife off!

We are also lucky enough to have the Ducati Streetfighter 848 gracing our stand as we’ll have our own in the New Year.  Having sat on it, it’s the same as the 1098 engined machine however I think the 848 motor will make this bike far better, very much looking forward to taking it to Spain in March!

Also took a long look at the Aprilia, Moto Guzzi stand which is big, loads of bikes we’ve ridden or want to!  The MV F3 and 675 Brutale also look good.  It was only a quick fly round but also caught up with Chris Walker, his new Road Race School is already booking quickly.

Valentino Rossi has revealed his tribute to his friend Marco Simoncelli this morning at Valencia.

This weekend will be a very difficult for everyone involved in MotoGP.  Marco’s father Paolo has asked for a minutes noise tomorrow before the race instead of a minutes silence which seems a fitting way to remember his son.

Spyder Club will be at the NEC for the Motorcycle Live Show from the 19th to the 27th of November.  Amongst others, we will be proudly exhibiting the brand new Ducati Streetfighter 848, due on the fleet in early 2012.

As membership fees will increase by 11% on the 15th December 2011, we’ll be offering new members the opportunity to join before the increase at the current rate, paying half by the 15th December and the second half by the 30th March 2012 when membership would begin.  Come and see us at stand E15, hall 2.

A very good day, the sun shone and Focused Events put another brilliant day on at Silverstone!

Spyder Club members enjoyed the 848 and 749s on the fantastic Arena GP circuit to end a good years riding on track.

Spyder Club would like to thank Focused Events and their exceptionally thorough instructors, our members have been spoilt!

The trips are open to both members and non-members and first up is the ever popular season starter in southern Spain which will be our third year.  Three 4 day trips are available from 9th to 23rd March 2012, so escape the British winter by flying to Malaga and joining us in the Spanish Sun!  For more details click: Spyder Club Fly Ride Motorcycle Tour.

Other 2012 trips planned include:

May 2012, Ducati Multistrada Getaway - six days starting at the BRDC, riding through France and Italy to Bologna where we’ll have a tour of the Ducati factory.

June 2012, Austrian Alps – four days in the Austrian Alps including the Grossglockner pass

Mid/late July 2012, Southern France – four days in Provence, southern France including the Route Napoleon

Late July 2012, Tuscany – four days in the Tuscan hills of Italy including the Futa Pass

August 2012, Long Weekend in Scotland – three days in the Scottish highlands, extended and repeated due to popular demand

Early September 2012, Austrian Alps – rerun of the above trip, including once again Grossglockner

Early September 21012, Swiss Alps – four days of stunning riding, a rerun of the two trips we ran this year.  Too good not to repeat!

We’ve just enjoyed a brilliant four day trip to the Swiss Alps with four guests who have enjoyed their time with Spyder Club.  The weather in Switzerland was superb and the roads as ever were stunning.  The bikes taken included the Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC, KTM RC8 R, Ducati Diavel Carbon, 749S and Multistrada, by unanimous decision the Multistrada was the bike of the trip!  It’s our last trip to the Alps this year but the 2012 calendar will be online in the coming weeks!
