Testing is now under way in Sepang for the 2012 MotoGP teams.  In what has been a difficult place for the paddock to return to, with the absence of Marco Simoncelli felt even more, the first indications of how the 1000cc bikes will perform in 2012 are now starting to come through:

Leon Halsam Stronger Happy With Spain Shakedown

Having spent two days testing his BMW around the Spanish circuit of Valencia, Leon Haslam is happy with the performance of the bike.

“It was a long winter back home and I am definitely happy to be back on the bike. We were lucky with the conditions. It was a bit cold in the morning, but we were able to get most out of the two days. We got through everything that we needed to go through, so I am very positive,” said Haslam.

“These two days were important. We have a lot of new things for this year and it was good to test before we go to Phillip Island. In addition, it was good to get a few laps under our belts and get up to speed again. We definitely made big steps and are much further ahead compared to last year. It really is a stronger package and we still have five more days to test in Australia to dial it all in.”

Great to hear Leon is already happy with his 2012 bike, will this year be his!  Also that the weather is good in Spain for our fast approaching fly-ride trips.

Motorcycle Spanish Trips

It appears that snow is on the horizon, nice to see for some but not ideal biking weather!  Although we’ve already had our first member booking for 2012 with the Triumph Daytona 675R – a stunning bike with a beautiful engine – our thoughts are already turning to our Spyder Club motorcycle tours in Spain in March.

We are doing some trips with Ducati UK and some Spyder Club trips with our fleet including the new Ducati Streetfighter 848 and Triumph Daytona 675R which will be phenomenal on the roads of Spain.  To give you a taste of what you could enjoy here’s some footage from Spain last year on the MV Agusta F4

Ducati Monster 1100 Evo arrives at Spyder Club!

Having ridden the Monster 1100 S a few years ago I knew the Evo was only going to be better, but it’s so much better!  It’s so light and agile, changing direction with easy, yet feels solid and secure like a bigger bike, even on wet winter roads it is easy to ride through the twists.  The Monster will be the perfect bike for the Spyder Club fly-rides trips in sunny Spain during March.

Ducati do make brilliant motorcycles and this is one puts the biggest smile on your face!

Spyder Club are heading off to Spain to run three, four day trips for up to eight like-minded guests in the beautiful region of Andalucia, southern Spain.  The fleet of motorcycles coming with us this year to add to the experience of riding the brilliant roads used for winter testing by journalists include, the new Ducati Streetfighter 848, Monster 1100 Evo, 848 and Multistrada, the Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC, Triumph Daytona 675 R and now a stunning Bimota DB4, a very rare sight on any road!!
